Music123 is having a good deal on the MXR M133 Micro Amp. It lists for $136.23, and is usually available for $79.99, but is currently on sale for $64.24. Not a bad deal at all on a great sounding pedal. If you’re looking to overdrive pedals or the preamp section of your tube amp… this may be the thing you need.

The MXR M-133 Micro Amplifier Pedal adds a preset amount of gain, using a single control. Today I wanted to talk about the MXR Custom Audio Electronics MC-401 boost pedal. I’ve been looking at this for a few years. Considered getting this or the MXR M-133 micro amp to help with lead boosts, etc. For the MXR MC-401 boost pedal, MXR joined forces with Bob Bradshaw of Custom Audio Electronics. CAE is well known for some great loopers / controllers, etc.

This morning, I came across the MXR M-133 Micro Amp. Been wanting to talk about this for a while, but it always seems to slip through the cracks. I’m a fan of clean boost pedals. They’re simple and really effective to crush your preamp for sweet tone. This one is no exception, single gain knob. I like it. Also, in the video below it mentioned how it will “preserve the integrity of your signal when you use long cables”. Sounds like there is a built in high impedance buffer in there, which in my opinion, is a great thing.
