StageTrix Pedal Riser Give Away!

CONTEST IS CLOSED

Today, I get to introduce another EffectsBay.com give away! This time the give away is sponsored by StageTrix and we’re giving away some pedal risers and fasteners.  This is a great, simple solution to raise the height of your pedals in the rear to clear the pedals in the front. I like simple solutions, and this is a great solution to this problem. The risers even have channels for routing cables underneath them.. clever again.

Here is the official overview of the StageTrix Pedal Riser:

StageTrix pedalboard accessories make people say “why didn’t anyone think of that before?” because they are clever, simple solutions to musicians’ real needs. Their first product, the Pedal Riser, raises your second row of pedals to the perfect height and also completely eliminates cable mess. Their second product, the Pedal Fastener, is an industrial strength fastener designed specifically for attaching pedals to pedalboards – no more trips to the hardware store only to end up with a mess on the bottom of your pedals! Check out http://www.stagetrixproducts.com/ to learn more.

For this give away, StageTrix is giving away 4 pedal risers (MSRP $16.99ea) and 2 3-packs of fasteners (MSRP $7.95ea). Total value of this give-away… $83.86!

The fasteners are velcro pads that adhere to the bottom of the pedals which make a clean tight contact to the riser. If you have large pedals (ie: Line 6 DL4, etc) you can use two risers to push them up.

If you get a chance, please check out their blog (link called ‘Hot Damn!‘ – love it). There are some reviews (including my review in Mar) and photos of the pedal riser in action.

So back to the give away.. and how you can win this set of Stage Trix Pedal Risers and Fasteners!

First, be sure to follow EffectsBay on Twitter and/or Facebook to keep up to date with this give-away along with new give aways. Also, I need your help to promote the give aways. The more submissions we get for these give aways, the more give aways we can do in the future.. and I’m assuming we all like free guitar gear right?

Second, fill out the form below, in two weeks  (July 20th) I’ll randomly pick 3 entries as finalists. I’ll email the 3 finalists and the first one out of the 3 that emails me back will be the winner. You must enter a ‘valid’ email address, bounce back emails will be rejected. One entry per person (seriously people.. one entry per person). After the winner has been notified and all is good (I’ve retrieved mailing address, etc), I’ll coordinate with StageTrix to get the set to the winner.

This give away is limited to the United States only (related to international partner relationships vs. shipping).

So the question is: “How many pedals do you have on your pedal board right now?”

Lava Solder Free Kit Give Away!

Lava Mini ELC Cable Pedalboard Kit with Right Angle Plug 10ft Cable/10ft Right Angle Solderless plugs/stripping toolCONTEST IS CLOSED

This all started with a email I sent to Mark Stoddard, the owner of Lava Cable. I was curious if they would be interested in donating a kit/product for a EffectsBay.com give away.. and he agreed! But I would like to make this give away a small personal review post as well.

About two months ago, I purchased the Lava Cable Kit (mini ELC) from Musician’s Friend ($89.95) and I was really curious how it worked, since it’s a different design than traditional solderless cable kits. Someone in Twitter-land mentioned it’s a bit tricky to get the right angle cables, and noticed that with the first one. But after I got the idea (the bend) it was a piece of cake. What’s interesting about this design is the ‘sleeve’ they use which I believes grounds the shielding properly. I was impressed with the quality of the cable (low capacitance), jacks and how easy getting a working cable was. I’ve had them on my pedal board since I bought the kit, and no issues at all with shorting or cracking.. so that is a big thumbs up for me.

So here is the give away. Mark is putting up a Lava Solder Free Kit (all R/A plugs) 15′ Lave ELC cable. My kit was $90 with 10′ cable.. and this is a 15′ for FREE!

Here is the official description:

A pedalboard kit that allows you to space your pedals within 1 inch or less of each other due to Lava’s revolutionary right-angle plug.

The Lava Solder-Free Pedalboard Kit includes 15 feet of Mini ELC Cable, 10 Lava plugs, and a stripping tool.

Lava Cable DIY solder-free plugs—developed with G&H Industries—is specifically designed with tight tolerances to match the Lava Mini ELC cable. The Lava Plug is the first solder-free DIY plug on the market not to use a set screw to make the ground connection. Instead, Lava Cable plugs employ a sleeve that makes a 360° ground and outer jacket contact.

The right angle plug was introduced at Summer NAMM 2009 and it may be the smallest DIY solder-free right angle plug on the market—with a body width of .435″, for spacing between pedals of less than 1″—or less than 1/2″ when staggered.

Please check out Lave Cable’s website, since they do offer other great quality products. Browsing there, I noticed their CPS Configurable Pedal Board System… seems very cool!

Okay, now to the give away. So how do you enter yourself to potentially win  Lava Solder Free Kit (all R/A plugs) 15′ Lave ELC cable give away?

First, be sure to follow EffectsBay on Twitter and/or Facebook to keep up to date with this give-away along with new give-aways.

Second, fill out the form below, in two weeks  (April 6th) I’ll randomly pick 3 entries as finalists. I’ll email the 3 finalists and the first one out of the 3 that emails me back will be the winner. You must enter a ‘valid’ email address, bounce back emails will be rejected. One entry per person. After the winner has been notified and all is good (I’ve retrieved mailing address, etc), I’ll coordinate with Mark at Lava Cable to get the cable kit shipped to the winner.

Remember to also retweet this post and help spread the word! If we continue to have success with these give-aways, I’ll be able to offer more and more… and we all love free stuff right?

So the question…. “If you could design the look of a pedal, what color would it be?”
