Great Deal on the Tonebone Loopbone at Amazon

Great Deal on the Tonebone Loopbone at AmazonThis morning I found another great deal! This time it’s for the Radial Tonebone Loopbone. In a nutshell it’s a true bypass effects loop (dual channel) with boost control. This can give you the ability to have a ‘lead’ effects loop with a hotter signal. The Radial Tonebone Loopbone lists for $350, and you usually see it in the $220 to $260 range, but is currently on sale for an excellent price of $104.49 at Amazon. This also includes FREE super saver shipping.  At the time of this post, there were only 3 in stock. I’m sure when it gets down to 1, the price will increase, so you’ll need to jump on it if you’re interested.

Here is the official description of the Radial Tonebone Loopbone:

The Radial Loopbone Dual Effects Loop is a powerful effects loop controller for pedal boards that allows the guitar player to insert 2 separate pedal effects chains and remove them when not in use. This is particularly advantageous when using older effects pedals that tend to add noise and cause loading problems in the signal chain. The Radial Loopbone incorporates a superb post-effects variable-gain power booster that allows straight signal boosting or post loop-1 or loop-2 boost for soloing.To ensure that the natural tone of the instrument is maintained, the Loopbone features Radial’s unique Drag Control pickup load correction circuit that allows the guitarist to properly match the impedance load of any pedal board configuration with any guitar for optimum performance. Furthermore, there are no signal degrading op-amps or chips in the signal path, only 100% discrete components and Radial’s highly acclaimed Class-A circuit for natural tone and exceptional dynamics.Besides FX-loop switching, load matching, and signal boost, the Loopbone brings even more to your pedal board: a separate “always-on” tuner-out circuit allows on-the-fly tuning without adding noise or load to your instrument signal and, perhaps the most innovative feature of all, Slingshot. Slingshot is Radial’s unique remote switching system that allows the Loopbone to simultaneously switch amplifier channels, other amp features, or even another Slingshot-equipped device.

Again, the Radial Tonebone Loopbone is on sale for only $104.49 at Amazon!

Good deal on the DigiTech DL-8 HardWire Delay/Looper at Amazon

Good deal on the DigiTech DL-8 HardWire Delay/Looper at AmazonI found a good opportunity for those looking to pick up the DigiTech DL-8 HardWire delay/loop pedal. Over the course of many Pedal Line Fridays, I’ve see this pedal a few times on various boards. This pedal lists at $219.95, and is usually available for $159.95, but is currently available for only $137.49 at Amazon.com.

Here is the official description for the DigiTech DL-8 HardWire Delay/Loop

The DigiTech HardWire DL-8 is a delay and looper effect pedal that features stereo I/O with selectable tails and a choice of 11 delay types. Among the delays you can configure with the DL-8 are Analog, Lo-Fi, Tape, and Reverse. The DigiTech DL-8 pedal also provides up to 8 seconds of delay and 20 seconds of looping as well as functions like tap-tempo and more.

DigiTech HardWire pedals represent a commitment to quality and attention to subtle details. In addition to technical enhancements like true bypass and high voltage operation, all DigiTech HardWire guitar pedals feature rugged, all-metal construction, a wide, stage-stable footprint, durable, custom-machined metal knobs for a sure grip, and precision potentiometers that guarantee knob positions will stay intact.

The rugged, durable construction of DigiTech Extreme Performance Pedals is just the beginning. Inside each HardWire guitar pedal are technological features that serious players require—all updated and improved to their utmost capacity. True bypass preserves the purity of your original tone as signal passes through the pedal, and high voltage operation further protects your sound by eliminating clipping and other signal degradation caused by power drain.

With the high-output pickups found on some electric guitars, it’s not unusual to hear clipping when playing through an effects pedal. This occurs when the voltage range produced by an electric guitar’s pickup is greater than the operating voltage of the effects pedal, normally limited to the voltage supplied by the effect’s battery or power supply. DigiTech HardWire pedals incorporate circuitry that increases the operating voltage headroom above that of the typical pedal. That means the HardWire DL-8 delay looper pedal can work with a wider range of guitars and is also at home in your amplifier’s effects loop.

HardWire Pedals include the following stage accessories:

* Stomplock™ knob guard locks your tone in place and prevent tampering or accidental knob adjustments onstage
* Pedal Switch Glow Sticker helps you locate the pedal in adverse stage lighting
* Custom-cut Hook and Loop Pedalboard Pad to attach and lock your pedals to your pedalboard

DigiTech HardWire DL-8 Delay/Looper Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

* True Hardwire bypass
* Constant high-voltage rails
* 11 delay types and 7 delay algorithms (digital, analog, tape, modulated, lo-fi, reverse, and loop)
* Indicator LED
* Tails on/off switch
* 8 seconds of stereo delay and 20 seconds of stereo loop time
* Stereo 1/4″ inputs/outputs
* Controls for delay level, delay time, repeats
* 9V DC battery operation
* Optional PS200R adapter compatible

Nice deal on the Akai Headrush E2 at Musician’s Friend

Nice deal on the Akai Headrush E2 at Musician's FriendI see today that the Akai Headrush E2 Looper/Delay is on sale at Musician’s Friend for $169.00 (normally this pedal sells for $199). I’ve been looking at one of these for a long time and just haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet. This is particularly tempting right now…. Lots of bands that I like use this pedal Russian Circles and Arma Secreta just to name a couple. It’s a great looper, that you can send to multiple amps, etc.

Here is the official description of the Akai Headrush E2:

The Akai E2 Headrush Delay/Looper Pedal picks up where the award-winning E1 left off. This stompbox brings together 16-bit digital delay with times from 0.5ms to an astonishing 35 seconds, tape echo simulations with 4 separate heads, and a looping recorder in one convenient effects pedal.

In addition to offering digital and analog-type delay sounds, user-selectable delay options allow for maximum control of signal output. There are several realtime interval and level adjustment selections as well as feedback level for repeats.

Headrush can also simulate a 4-head analog tape echo machine and it is possible to set the spacing between the virtual heads to create complex multiple delays and repeats. The outputs of each of the virtual heads appear on individual outputs for ultimate flexibility when used with an external mixing console.

The looping mode allows you to record and overdub layer after layer of sound in real time making Headrush an unbelievable live performance tool.

Depending upon which mode is selected, the left switch controls the on/off and play/stop functions while the right switch sets the tap delay time or recording and overdub options. The LED display indicates which effect is in use and blinks in time showing the delay time selected.

I found this video demonstrating this pedal. I liked this video.. instead of some mathy riffage locked in a loop, it’s something a little lighter. I also wrote a post about this in the past, with additional videos if you’re still looking for what this pedal can do.

Loopers at the top of the best selling list

I found it pretty interesting that the three of the top five best selling guitar effects pedals at Musician’s Friend were looper pedals. I’ve been kicking around the idea of picking up a looper. I have the Line 6 DL4 which can loop, but I might be getting rid of that pedal in the near future. I’ve had my eye on the Akai E2 Headrush in the past… and also these three loopers.

Reggie Watts visits Electro-Harmonix

Reggie WattsReggie Watts is from Montana. Reggie Watts does some amazing things with voice and loops. Reggie Watts performed on my birthday… in Montana.. and yet I still missed it. I am pissed that I missed Reggie Watts.

Seriously though, Reggie does amazing things with his voice and loops, it’s pretty incredible. I was super stoked to see this way-too-short video of Reggie doing what he does best at Electro-Harmonix using a Electro-Harmonix Classics 2880 Super Multi Track Looper and Classics 2880 Footswitch. Check out the video by EHX:

ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky Looper Pedal

ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky Looper PedalThis morning I was poking around looking for various ZVex products and I found one that I wanted to take a closer look. Heard good things about it, but never really looked too closely. I’m talking abou tthe Zvex Lo-Fi Loop Junky Looper pedal. There are some great digital based looper pedals out there, and I wanted to see what the deal is with this.

Here is the official description:

This is the ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky Looper Pedal. It’s really low fidelity… the recording of your guitar is filled with hiss, moan, distortion and warped-record strangeness, but everyone will be able to tell the loop from your real guitar. Because the processing of your direct guitar is done with my new bootstrap circuit, with the very highest impedance circuit ZVex has ever developed (even higher than the super hard-on circuit) your direct guitar will have detail incomparable with anything you’ve ever heard. The juxtaposition of your direct guitar against the smashed, distorted, shimmering/warbling recording of the loop mechanism will make it clear once and for all who is the guitarist and what is the machinery.

THERE IS NO ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERSION. It’s pure analog storage, just like the old bucket-brigade technology, for 20 seconds straight. It would take 25 800ms analog delay pedals to hold the loop that this thing can play.

I found this video by GuitarGearComMx. Side note.. big fan of Interpol!

You can pick up the ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky Looper pedal at Fat Tone Guitars for $369.00.

DigiTech JamMan Looper Pedal

Today, @disandroid asked about the DigiTech JamMan Looper pedal. He was looking for a looper (ie: Akai Headrush, Line 6 DL4, etc) where he could solo onto of rhythm stuff. I haven’t looked at DigiTech stuff for a while, and didn’t know much about this pedal, so I wanted to take a closer look this morning.

I’d like to point you to a couple of posts illustrating how you can loop and create great music using pedals like this. If you have some time, check out these two earlier posts:
Reggie Watts rockin’ the loops
Cool Line 6 DL 4 delay video
Akai E2 Headrush Delay/Looper Pedal

As you can see, you can make some cool/fun music with these loopers! But let’s take a closer look at the DigiTech JamMan Looper. Here is the official pedal description:

The legend continues. When DigiTech invented the PDS8000 pedal almost twenty years ago, it stored eight seconds of audio. Now they’ve reinvented it using removable CompactFlash memory to store up to 6.5 hours*! A wide range of features combined with ease of use make the DigiTech JamMan the perfect looper/phrase sampler for practicing, composing, and performing. The JamMan new comes with 1GB Compact Flash to hold over 3 hours of loops, all stored in 99 memory locations. The JamMan features; instrument input, balanced XLR input, and stereo 1/8 auxiliary input jacks. Guitars, bass, vocals and audio from MP3 players can be sampled, looped and overdubbed at 44.1 kHz 16-bit wave file format for superb CD quality audio. Spice up your performance with audio clips, backing tracks or take it on the road as a one man performance.

Here is another great video by ProGuitarShopDemos showing what this pedal can do:

I also wanted to include this video where MismatchedSockGuy creates a song on the fly using the DigiTech JamMan.

Currently, the DigiTech JamMan Looper is on sale at Musician’s Friend for $249.95. The pedal normally lists for $449.95, so that’s $200 (44%) off of list price. Also there is a Mail-In rebate included with this pedal which expires on 1/15/10

Akai E2 Headrush Delay/Looper Pedal

I was over at Harmony-Central’s Forum yesterday, and there was a post about the Akai E2 Headrush. About a year ago, I was really focused on buying this pedal, and for whatever reason it got pushed of the list. The looping feature in there and the ability to send loops to different amps is a very cool concept to me. And now it’s back on my list for sure. Currently there is a good deal at Musician’s Friend on it!

Here is the official product description:

The Akai E2 Headrush Delay/Looper Pedal picks up where the award-winning E1 left off. This stompbox brings together 16-bit digital delay with times from 0.5ms to an astonishing 35 seconds, tape echo simulations with 4 separate heads, and a looping recorder in one convenient effects pedal.

I found this good video demonstrating some of the looping/delay features in a very interesting way by isiroibb.

I also wanted to show another video of one my favorite bands, Arma Secreta. Chris Wark uses the Akai E2 Headrush with his guitar and they go to a clean and dirty amp. I really love this concept and wanted to show you a real-world example of this pedal:

You can currently pickup the Akai E2 Headrush Delay/Looper for $199.00 at Musician’s Friend.
