Carl Martin Plexitone Overdrive

Carl Martin Plexitone Overdrive PedalToday, I was checking out some Carl Martin stuff (based on my earlier community question: What do you think is the best overdrive pedal out there. Here is the official description:

With the Carl Martin Plexitone Overdrive Effects Pedal, you get a crunch channel, a high gain channel, and a 20dB clean boost channel for every tone you want: subtle overdrive, hard-rock crunch, high-gain shred, or bass-heavy grunge. An integrated regulated power supply gives all the headroom you’ll need.

Carl Martin Plexitone Overdrive Pedal Features:

* 3-channel overdrive pedal
* Clean 20dB boost
* Crunch channel
* High-gain channel
* Tone and level knobs
* Boost, Select, and Drive footswitches

I found this video by lespauly74.  Surprisingly, didn’t find many Carl Martin vids out there?

Source Audio is slashing $100 off the price of their Hot Hand Wah units to celebrate the release of DragonForce’s new live double-disc album

Herman CloseFriends over at Source Audio let me know about a promotion that they’re currently putting on. They’re dropping $100 off of their Hot Hand Wah to celebrate the release of DragonForce’s new album Twilight Dementia. If you’re unfamiliar with the Hot Hand, it’s device that you wear (on your hand or headstock) that manipulates a wah.. pretty interesting. I’ve written about it here (and there is a video of it as well) Below is the official press release.

Boston, MA – Music effects pedal company Source Audio is slashing $100 off the price of their Hot Hand Wah units to celebrate the release of DragonForce’s new live double-disc album Twilight Dementia.  The lead guitarist of the band, Herman Li, has long been an avid user of the wireless Hot Hand, the flagship product of the Source Audio line of pedals.  As a testament to the impact of the device on his playing, Li placed the Hot Hand Ring on the cover of the album (visible halfway up the left side).

Formed in 1999, DragonForce – a multi-national amalgam of players at the very top of their game – have spent the past decade proving that virtuoso musicianship and strong songwriting values can appeal to rock fans right across the board.  The band’s tour, fueled by their relationship with the Guitar Hero’ franchise, and the success of four studio albums with worldwide sales currently topping two million, has seen sold-out headline shows around the world, including markets as far afield as China, Hawaii, New Zealand, Russia & Columbia.

“The idea was to record every single show from the last leg of the tour,” says Herman Li “so we could pick the best take of each song without needing to do any overdubs in the studio; keeping the whole thing ‘LIVE’ like all the classic live metal albums.”

Source Audio’s Hot Hand ring played a key role in Herman’s stage presence and sound for the DragonForce tour and subsequent live album.  “It is like the secret hi-tech weapon in my guitar-rig!” continues Li “The Hot Hand is an innovative, mind-blowing effects processor.  The sounds you can create with it are out of this world.”

The price drop brings the street price of the Hot Hand Wah down to $299 from $399 for the wireless version and down to $199 from $299 for the wired version.  For more information visit: http://www.sourceaudio.net

Twilight Dementia will be released on September 13th via Spinefarm Records (Europe) and Roadrunner Records (U.S., Canada).

Deep Trip Hellbender Fuzz Give Away

Deep Trip Pedals - Hellbender FuzzCONTEST IS CLOSED

A little while ago Du from Deep Trip Pedals sent me a pedal for review. That was the Deep Trip Hellbender Fuzz pedal, that we reviewed earlier this week. Du also thought it would be great to give this pedal away to a EffectsBay.com reader, and I’m all for that!!

If you haven’t read the Deep Trip Hellbender Fuzz review, you should check it out here (sound clips with video are available). In a nutshell, this is a great fuzz pedal with a classic warm tone that uses germanium transistors in the fuzz section of the pedal.

Deep Trip Pedals also offers Kryptone and the BOG, definitely check out their site for these great pedals as well. Deep Trip Pedals is out of São Paulo, Brazil (and live in Twitter and Facebook).

Okay, now for the give away! This give away will be running for two weeks (ends October 1 at 12PM MST). I will need everyone’s help to promote this. If you have a blog, please let people know about it. If you’re on Twitter and/or Facebook, please promote it. The more action we get from give aways, I’ll be able to continue the tradition. We all love free gear right???

So how do you get in on the action and potentially win yourself a FREE Deep Trip Hellbender Fuzz pedal? First, be sure to follow EffectsBay on Twitter and/or Facebook to keep up to date with this give-away along with new give-aways.

Second, fill out the form below, in two weeks  (October 1st) I’ll randomly pick 3 entries as finalists. I’ll email the 3 finalists and the first one out of the 3 that emails me back will be the winner.You must enter a ‘valid’ email address, bounce back emails will be rejected. One entry per person (seriously people.. one entry per person). After the winner has been notified and all is good (I’ve retrieved mailing address, etc), I’ll mail off the pedal.

Pedal Line Friday – 9/17 – Shawn Palmer

Today’s pedal line is from Shawn Palmer. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedallineateffectsbaydotcom. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

I have two boards. The first is the big board that I use with my cover band, Second Slice (check us out on Facebook or www.second-slice.com).  The second, smaller board is what I use to play at church every Sunday.

Guitar

2004 50th Anniversary Deluxe Ash Stratocaster.  I swapped out the pickguard to make it a Fat Strat.  I loaded it with Dimarzio Area 58’s in the neck and middle and a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge for some beef. I also added a volume pot treble bleed mod so it doesn’t mud up when I turn it down.
Pedal Line Friday - 9/17 - Shawn Palmer Fat StratMain board (Pedaltrain; powered by Voodoo Lab PP2):

Pedal Line Friday - 9/17 - Shawn Palmer Main Board
T.C. Electronics Polytune – Great tuner.  Really fast and accurate, plus its true bypass.

Ibanez TS-9 Turbo Tube Screamer – Great as just a boost into the OCD for a heavier rhythm tone. I use it in the standard TS mode.

Fulltone OCD – Fantastic overdrive that cleans up really well.  It has great transparency that works well as a tone palette to build on.

MXR Custom Comp – Basically the same as the ’74 reissue without the hand assembly or price tag.  Uses the same IC and has true bypass. Sounds great and has internal thumb dials for attack and trim.  I like it after overdrive so I can keep it on all the time for evening out levels.  It also works well like this for cleaning up the OCD without losing volume.  Also, it keeps the noise down.

Zendrive Clone – A friend built this for me.  It sounds amazing.  It has a really smooth, round tone.  I use this as a lower gain rhythm tone or a lead boost.  It’s after the compressor so I can really boost the volume for leads. It’s also great going from clean to leads without tap dancing.

Keeley modded Blues Driver – I use this as just an overall volume boost for whatever reason I may need.  I’ve actually been using it for brief rhythm lines that really need to stand out.

Loopmaster True Bypass box – Just a standard TB box.  It houses the Hardwire RT-7 Tremolo/Rotary in loop A and the Hardwire DL-8 in loop B.

Hardwire TR-7 Tremolo/Rotary – This is their new tremolo/rotary/vibe pedal.  I only really use the vibe setting but will occasionally use the tremolo setting.  It works well enough for both.  It takes a lot of tweaking to find useable tones, but they are good when you do.  Lots of fun. I keep this in tap tempo mode and use the looper as the master on/off switch.

Hardwire DL-8
– Multi-tone delays.  I like the modulation setting for the added chorusing on the delays.  I don’t really like chorus pedals but I like a little bit of atmosphere.  This pedal works great for that.  I keep this in tap tempo mode and use the looper as the master on/off switch.

Small board (Gator Pedal Tote; powered by Gator G-Bus):

Pedal Line Friday - 9/17 - Shawn Palmer Secondary Board
Keeley True Bypass box – This houses the Boss TU-2 tuner.  I found that the buffer in the tuner affects how well the OCD cleans up with the guitar’s volume knob, so I take it out of the equation.

MXR Script Phase 90 Reissue
– This is just for some subtle swoosh for extra flavor.  I like it before overdrive because it takes care of the volume drop issue.

Fulltone OCD – Once again…great palette for rock tones and cleans up really well.  This stays on all the time and I just use my guitar’s volume knob for cleans tones.

Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer – Great for solos.  It adds volume to push leads out in front.  It also adds some compression that is lacking in the OCD for single note lines.

Boss DD-3 Delay – Standard delay.  Stays at around 310 – 320 milliseconds. Stays on all the time.

All of this runs into a Dr. Z Maz 18 non-reverb set basically clean.

Pedal Line Friday - 9/17 - Shawn Palmer Dr Z
Thanks, Shawn Palmer – Ocala, FL

Blackstar HT Series HT-BOOST Tube Boost

Blackstar HT Series HT-BOOST Tube Boost Guitar Effects PedalYesterday @3volved on Twitter mentioned he recently picked up a Blackstar HT-Boost and was loving it. I’ve mentioned a few other Blackstar pedals, but not the HT-Boost, so thought I’d take a closer look. The HT-Boost, is a high voltage pedal (using 300V) which simulates adding two extra tube stages. Interesting.

Here is the official description:

The HT-BOOST Guitar Pedal’s high voltage gain circuit is like adding two extra hot tube stages to your amp so, unlike with inferior battery powered products, you don’t lose any precious dynamics or tone. Add to this an all-tube cut and boost tone section and a high level output which is specially designed to drive your tube amp hard and it all adds up to the ultimate boost pedal available.

The HT Range of tube overdrive pedals features true high voltage (300V) circuitry and are packed with innovations and tone. The revolutionary, patent-applied-for tone shaping feature ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) will redefine the tonal expectations of guitarists.

Add to this the no compromise speaker emulated output and you have the most cost effective way of getting real tube tones direct to disk or tape.

So whether you’re playing live or recording, with the HT Range of effect pedals by Blackstar you can finally get ‘the sound in your head’.

PURE TUBE BOOST
High voltage tube design for true tube dynamics and feel 100% all-tube gain just like adding two extra hot tube stages to your amp. tube ‘cut & boost’ tone circuit for musical equalization. Two separate outputs provide one level for guitar pedals and an extra dynamic high level for tube amps. High integrity bypass for silent switching and driving long cables.

Blackstar HT Series HT-BOOST Tube Boost Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

* Genuine tube design
* Operates at 300V HT
* Cascaded tube gain stages
* Hot rod your tube amp
* Silent switching operation
* All-tube tone control circuit
* Pedals or ‘hot’ tube amplifier outputs
* High integrity buffered bypass
* Power supply included
* Silent switching.

I found a short but sweet demo of this pedal by pedaltoneshop:

You can pick up the Blackstar HT Series HT-BOOST Tube Boost for $179.99 at Musician’s Friend.

Community Question Results: What do you think is the best overdrive pedal out there?

EffectsBay Community QuestionI realized that lately I haven’t asked any Community Questions in a while, and figured I should get back on it. Yesterday I asked what is the best overdrive out there. I figured I would get a lot of different replies, and I did. Some were very common.. while others were not so common. I have to say, these community questions are bad for my GAS. Below are the replies from Twitter and Facebook!

Facebook

Johnny Gibbons I don’t know about THE best but the Digitech Bad Monkey is certainly one of ‘em in terms of bang for buck. Also worth a mention is Roseland Electronic’s Fat Bastard, handmade one-offs.
Michael Carpenter Disnortion…
T.J. Harris The Tube Screamer’s more than earned its classic status and I’m very fond of old-school treble boosters, but for a straight overdrive I’d say the best I’ve heard is the T-Rex Michael Angelo Batio Overdrive. It does exactly what I think an overdrive pedal should primarily do: take the signal coming in and make it a bigger version of itself. It doesn’t sound like a pedal – just like you went to 11. Very transparent, and the ’60s jet fighter graphics look classy too.
Joe Harley the best? the first! Maxon OD-880 ;)
Joseph Smolinski Danelectro Daddy-O
Brandon Bishop My absolute favorite is the Guyatone Flip Metal Monster
Jamie Laboz The Angry Troll is pretty decent ~ very versatile!
Kevin Ian i love the barber small fry, the barber ltd sr (perhaps the sweetest low gain pedal i’ve ever heard!), but right now, my baby is my HOLY FIRE! :)
Jeremy Hainline Catalinbread WIIO
Liron Cohen Greenhouse effects – goldrive mk-3 :-) ))))
Scott Niles For the money, the Danelectro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive.
Mick Blowe I’m partial to the old Marshall Bluesbreaker, despite the name.
Sammy Binder Barber Direct Drive
Lee Lundgren The Rockett Flex Drive. In front of a Deluxe, its not bad.
James Sego The volume knob on the amp.
David Caplinger Xotic bb preamp, most versatile od ive ever played
Jarno Junnonen Fulltone OCD sounds great
Matthew Thompson the Cusack screamer. http://cusackmusic.com/wp/?page_id=9
Matt Cheezem Love the Fuchs Plush drive
Dave Jones I’ve enjoyed the Carl Martin AC-Tone and G2D Cream Tone recently, but presently I’m really rating the T-Rex Mudhoney : smoothness, thickness, bit of added grit, and *very* versatile !
Denis Guillard Rockbox Boiling Point ? !
Cedric Bertin Love the barber stuff… but the Keeley Time Machine Boost is killer.
Rik Wade The screwdriver.
Phil Weust Fulltone GT-500 overdrive and distortion in one pedal. You can use one or the other or both and switch the order.
Brendan McLaughlin Amp O/D all the way.
Steve Rogers I used an Ibanez Mostortion for many years with a clean Marshall amp, and it even gave me a decent sound straight into the PA, but these days I just use the many levels of overdrive available from my 30th Anniversary Marshall combo and, for lead solos, the additional poke of an Analog Man Beano Boost.
Leopold Zitnik I’m a huge fan of the original MXR Distortion+, the one with the “script” logo

@Chris_Basener @effectsbay Xotic BB-Pre for a lovely smooth overdrive
@RivetheadRasta @effectsbay Boss OD-1, always loved the sound of it.
@indrapjg Ibanez Tubescreamer 808!the best a man can get!
@Jeff_Abraham Timmy overdrive pedal….so transparent and harmonically rich!
@plastik_g @effectsbay Digitech Bad Monkey
@jlosavio @effectsbay lovepedal COT50
@jamie_frank Keeley modded TS-9.
@Crimsontone @effectsbay hard to go wrong with an original TS808.
@JohnHaselden @effectsbay Tech 21 tri-od always does it for me
@audioissues @effectsbay Overdrive only, or distortion? For overdrive I’m partial to the Marshall Jackhammer.
@daveuhduh @effectsbay the Fulltone OCD has my heart. Ibanez TS808 Reissuse is good too though, but only the reissue.
@_jwhk_ @effectsbay Well, I can only comment on the pedals I’ve used, but it would be either the Sitori Sonics Sitori Drive or the Timmy. #pedals
@ianmcclintock @effectsbay Best OD pedal I’ve personally ever played is Catalinbread’s Dirty Little Secret. It’s awesome.

Russian Big Muff Pi Project

Last week I was asked to see if I could repair a old Marshall Guv’nor pedal for a friend that plays bass. He borrowed the pedal, but stopped functioning. I took a look at the guts and immediately diagnosed the problem to a broken wire leading from board to the output jack. A new solder connection and he was back in business.  But, he mentioned that he needed to get this back and was interested in the older Russian Big Muff Pi (large green enclosure). I remembered that I bought a Big Muff Pi (BMP) PCB from GeneralGuitarGadgets.com (GGG) a while ago, so I thought it would be a perfect little *fun* project.

I was happy to see that GGG had a schematic for the Russian Big Muff, so I started by printing that and finding all the various components.. which I had! Next was assembling the circuit board. After the circuit board and the pots were installed, I installed it to my breadboard tester to see I was in business… and sure enough, Big Muff tone was rockin’ the workspace.

The next phase was to get an enclosure. I had a few powder coated enclosures for a buffer project I’ve been working on, so I taped it up and started laying out the knobs and jack placement. Holes were drilled nicely with my Ace drill press (man.. I’m so glad I picked that thing up!).

Below is a shot of the BMP circuit board. I’d like to see if I can do some mods to this.. but may need to create one for myself. I already gave this to my friend (which was super psyched on his new Muff).Big Muff Pi Project - Gut Shot

Here is a shot of the top. The powder coat is cool.. changes from purple to brown depending on the lighting.

Review of Deep Trip Pedal’s Hellbender Fuzz

Deep Trip Pedals - Hellbender FuzzI was psyched to make contact with Deep Trip Pedals. I’ve heard a few people talk about them, so I wanted to see what they were all about. They sent up the Hellbender Fuzz pedal and as usual, I enlisted the help of Jimmy Rolle to help demo the pedal. But first, let’s go into the settings of the fuzz.

The Hellbender Fuzz has 3 knobs and 2 toggle switches.  The knobs are Vol, Mood and Fuzz. The toggles control Mode and Voice.

Volume is pretty self explanatory. 0 is mute and all the way is wide open.
Mood controls the response dynamics. Changes the gain level, saturation, pick attack, etc.
Fuzz adds the level of fuzz from nice overdrive tones to maximum sustain.
Mode shifts between two modes (2 way toggle). Up position is more ‘vintage’ – fat, dark and slower attack. Down position is more modern, brighter and well defined
Voice (3 way toggle) changes gain/frequency response. Up is fat, heavy and gainy. Middle is bright, clear, edgy and cutting. Down is in between up and middle.

The pedal is true bypass, and initially thought there was no LED (which is fine) but during the demo, noticed that there is a LED inside which makes the ‘grill’ at the front of the pedal light up with a nice amber glow.. nice touch! The enclosure is very bomb proof with the chicken head knobs. Orange and yellow colors.. so it will definitely stand out on any pedal board.

The first demo, Jimmy is playing a American Fender Strat through a Rivera Knucklehead 100 watt head/Marshall 4×12 cabinet. Hellbender is played through the clean channel. The rig was mic’d with a AKG Solidtube and Shure SM57 microphones direct to laptop.

You can also listen to the high quality MP3 via SoundCloud!

This next video is Jimmy playing through the gain channel of the Rivera Knucklehead to see how the Hellbender responds to a high gain amp for leads.

Overall, the Hellbender is a really nice, smooth and creamy sounding fuzz pedal. It is very playable with a variety of tone options. Build construction is outstanding and the ‘look’ is very unique and ye catching.

As with other demos, I also like to interview the builder to see where they’re coming from and to find out more about the pedal and business.

- Where is Deep Trip Pedals from?
São Paulo, Brazil!

- Have you made any pedals for notable artists?
We don’t do any kind of endorsement because we want people to use what they really like, not what some contract says. That means who uses our pedals has bought one, just like anyone else. We do know that some notable Brazilian artists play Deep Trip pedals, like Fred Andrade ( http://www.fredandrade.com/ ), Billy Brandão (sideman for Frejat, Erasmo Carlos etc.), Rob Scrip ( http://www.ageofaquaria.com/ ) and a few session musicians. Most of the pedals we sold abroad were through dealers, so we don’t necessarily have contact with the people who bought and we don’t know who they are. Kinda sad, I’d say, because we really like that kind of interaction.

- What would you say is your ‘flagship’ pedal?
Both the Hellbender and the BOG are very popular, the latter because it’s pretty versatile and user friendly (even for those who aren’t used to fuzz pedals). I believe the popularity of the Hellbender lies in the fact that it fills a gap in the market for fuzz pedals that are as dynamic, sensitive and responsive as typical Fuzz Faces, but also have higher gain and sustain. It suits many tones from classic rock side to the metal side (I know that’s odd to say about a modded 60′s circuit, but it is true and proven time and time again). There are a few sensitive and dynamic high gain fuzz pedals on the market, but they are really few.

- What did you want to achieve with the Hellbender?
It was born as our modded Colorsound Tonebender mkII, for personal use. The goal was to make a very responsive higher gain fuzz, because we didn’t want to get stuck with those fuzz pedals that have no dynamics whatsoever. In that process we came up with the additional controls to make it versatile and to make it fit perfectly on modern guitar gear. So it can match a Tele for some early Zep, or do some Queens of the Stone Age with humbuckers, or do some nice early Sabbath riffs. And it can wah. And it works with modern transistor amps that don’t usually like fuzz pedals.

- What makes the Hellbender stand out?
It has high gain, nice sustain, but it responds to your pick attack and playing dynamics like few high gain fuzz pedals can. And then you can make it cut and pierce, or hammer the gods with it, always keeping your instrument’s character. Just gotta know where to tweak. Oh, and it looks awesome!

- What transistors are in the Hellbender? (Silicon or Germanium… and why)
We use three germanium transistors in the fuzz section (that’s what really matters in that Ge x Si talk) and two silicon transistors for other functions. Sixties fuzz designs are very simple, few parts, and that makes them very sensitive to the kind of part you stick there. Our goal never was to replicate the original, so we tested dozens of types to find those which would take us where we wanted. Each stage has a different type of germanium (each one carefully tested and selected) and there’s both new old stock and new production in there. If you change one type or even choose one of the same type with different measurements, it’s not a Hellbender anymore. I mean, it changes A LOT of what that guy is.

- How much does the Hellbender cost.. and where do I pick one up?
Right now, we have dealers in Australia ( http://www.deluxeguitars.com.au/deeptrip.asp ) and UK ( http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Tone-Boutique-Guitars ). Everyone else can buy directly from us for US$219 and that includes shipping to Americas and Western/Central Europe. Just e-mail    deeptripatdeeptriplanddotcom and I’ll answer each one personally as fast as I can, as always.

This is a great fuzz pedal. Be sure to check out Deep Trip for other pedals (BOG and Kryptone) at Deep Trip’s website, and follow them on Twitter and Facebook!

Pedal Line Friday – 9/10 – Joe Bear

Today’s pedal line is from Joe Bear. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedallineateffectsbaydotcom. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Pedal Line Friday - 9/10 - Joe Bear Racked pedals Pedal Line Friday - 9/10 - Joe Bear below the rack

For my recording studio I found I wanted to keep all my effects hooked up so that I had access to them at all times! Sounds easy, but careful thought had to go into the set-up! In order to have true by-pass, I would need a switcher that could work with 25+ pedals… That was NOT going to happen, so I needed to do some homework…

As you will notice, I have mostly Boss pedals. Before you all get bent out of shape, I wanted to tell you of a very simple philosophy… “I believe in not paying large sums of money to achieve the same tone as boutique pedals!” That being said, I have used Boss pedals as my medium and have modded the ones that are substandard. This has given me the exact sound I have been looking for my whole life! I personally don’t do the modding myself. I have Rick from http://pedalrmods.shutterfly.com/ do all my modding. Even my Crate amp has been modded for a Vox tone!

Okay lets break these pedals down and show whats happening in my set-up! If you want to know what has been done to each modded pedal, please contact Rick! He will be more then happy to work with anyone with an interest. I will start from guitar and go to the back of the amp: I start out by going into a boost/buffer that was built into an old Boss pedal. Rick named it a Lil Bear, Big Boost! (I painted it candy apple red!) From there I go down onto the floor and go through a Morley volume and a Morley wah. That way I have a buffer in front of those pedal! Then it jumps over to a Boss SL-20 slicer pedal. I then move up to the board and into the input of an NS-2 noise suppressor. (I will just give Boss model numbers from this point) In the loop of the NS-2 I start my distortion chain. First is a BBE sonic stomp, (a must have item) into a GE-7 EQ pedal (modded), into a CS-3 compressor pedal(modded) into a BD-2(modded) I then go into a OS-2 overdrive(modded) to a DS-1(triple modded) into a MD-2 mega distortion(un-modded) to an MT-2 that is also modded. All this goes into the front input of my amp!

In the effects loop of the amp, I did the following effects in this, a specific order… BUT… This is subject to some change because I have less modded pedals in this loop. I lose a lil bit of quality in some of the effects. Noticeable only during the recording process! If I was playing live, I wouldn’t change a thing!

Okay from the effects loop of the amp:
I start this loop with a TR-2 tremolo pedal. It has a few different mods to it and it also has a volume boost added. Its important to keep your signal strong through the effects loop. From there I go into an AC-2 acoustic simulator(Which is a big tone sucker, so this needs to be boosted), from there I go into a OC-3 super octave(un-modded) to a PH-3 phase shifter(un-modded) and then into a AW-3 dynamic wah pedal(un-modded). This whole row could use a lil tweeking and I plan on keeping my modder busy! From there I go into a PS-5 super shifter, which is one of the best doubler effects I have ever used!( I will never need to mod this pedal!) I then run a CH-1 super chorus(modded only because of its age.) Into a standard BF-2 flanger. I have never played through a better flange then this… If you spent more money, I think its a waste… Just my preference, I do not judge any set-up to be inferior! And my last 2 pedals are, the DD-7 digital delay, and a RV-3 digital reverb/delay combo! RV-3 has some real nice lush reverb and delay combinations in it. You can really do a lot with it. Sometimes these can be hard to find, but if you can get your Paws on one, it is well worth it. Then, back to the amp!

I love this set-up, as well as my studio!
