The Afghan Whigs – Pedalboards

The Ohio based The Afghan Wigs is a legendary band. I remember them well in the 1990s, but never had a chance to catch them live. They broke up in the early 2000s, but reformed and staying strong since 2011. When I think of The Afghan Wigs, I think thick guitars in the vein of those 90s sounds. Recently, I caught their recent Rig Rundown on Premier Guitar and I was really excited to see what was under the hood. The first thing that caught my attention is the wall of sound with a tight stage. Thinking about Rick Nelson and his stringed instruments – must be quite challenging to get the stage sound under control, yet rockin’.

    I was at the Texas shows and this Austin show is typically fantastic. Well worth a watch. It’s the second video on the page and apparently is all or most of the show. My favorite of the shows that have leaked out so far
