I saw an interesting post from the great player Peter Stroud this afternoon, and thought I would share. Apparently, he’s selling some of his gear, and it’s priced to move! What does that mean? Well.. he’s selling gear at lower than eBay going rates.. that’s what that means. On top of that, we’re talking some great gear owned by Peter himself. The historical significance of this can be extremely cool.
For those of you not familiar with Peter Stroud – he’s monster guitar player who has worked with Don Henley and Sheryl Crow. You use to also see him demo Electro-Harmonix gear in the past too.
This is what Peter posted..
Have started a list of gear for sale. Def more to come, so keep checking back. Priced to sell, with most all items at lower than “Sold” eBay listing prices. Message me if anything of interest!
Gear For Sale
So what are we talking about in gear? As of right now, just to name a few things… Voodoo Lab Amp Selector, Ernie Ball Volume pedal, Boss NS-2, Dunlop Crybaby, Variax 500 Guitar. He’s been adding to this Google doc since yesterday. To see what he has available, check out the following Google Doc.
I’m always interested in pro players selling gear. Interesting way to potentially own something with a little juju. What do you think about this? Let me know by commenting below!

Every time I’ve seen one of these celebrity gear sell offs, the prices are almost always inflated. I don’t understand why a buyer would be willing to pay a premium of 100% or more because a bit of gear was owned and played by so and so. There’s no secret magick or mojo in the item. There is no Pick of Destiny. I’ve been a fan of Mr. Stroud’s work for over 20 years. So I hope the statement that he’s not going to be asking inflated prices holds true.

Peter is a great, super-modest guy, and I don’t think the prices that he has listed are at all inflated. I bought a Line-6 Filter Pro rack unit from him a couple of years ago, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the price or the unit. I still use it today, and it’s just cool having a bit of story behind a bit of kit.

Those prices are super approachable and the SOLD column reflect that.

Star-power gear sales are interesting to me as well, not that I’ve made any purchases personally, but Stroud’s offerings I could have done if only I’d been quicker. Even still, these sells always include some interesting pieces to inspire if not covet.
Thanks for the notice and topic.
