MXR Noise Clamp

MXR M195 Noise ClampToday I was bouncing around YouTube, and came across a cool video on the MXR Noise Clamp. This is a great pedal to manage noisy pedals or high gain pedals that cause squeal when you’re not playing. Basically, it’s a noise gate effects loop. I’m liking this idea.

Here is the official description of the MXR Noise Clamp:

Love to crank up those pedals? Love to crank up multiple pedals? Then you know how critical this pedal is in your chain. The MXR Noise Clamp pedal puts the kibosh on hiss and noise from your signal chain. It includes its own effects loop, which effectively lets you kill noise across your entire signal chain. A single Trigger knob lets you set the threshold at which the Noise Clamp activates, and a green LED lets you know when the gate is active. Sounding great is about more than great tone; use the Noise Clamp and keep your rig sounding great between the notes too.

Below is the video by jimdunlopusa on the MXR Noise Clamp:

Right now at Amazon.com there is a great deal on the MXR Noise Clamp. The MXR Noise Clamp is available for $79.99, but this is a bundle deal which comes with two free Strukture 6″ patch cables!

This is one of those pedals that would no doubt invaluable and improve the overall sound of any guitarists rig, but because it doesn’t produce new noises or bizarre alien sounds many people are going to be reluctant to buy one 🙂

The same goes for noise gates, EQ pedals, compression and line switchers and the like.

    I don’t know if that’s the case.

Dunlop provided me with one to review, and yes I have definitely found it invaluable, with a permanent place on my board.

My review has had a ton of traffic since I published it too, so I think plenty are interested in it.

I keep meaning to do a YouTube demo, but just haven’t had enough time lately to set it all up.
