Rixen Pedal Enclosures

Rixen Pedal EnclosuresIf you have an interest in doing some pedal builds of your own, one of the fun aspects is deciding on the enclosure to use. Usually you’re only option is Hammond type enclosure which is heavily used in the industry. Some ‘big’ companies manufacturer their own style of enclosures which separates them (ie: Ibanez, Boss, etc). Those enclosures are usually die-cast and quite burly. If you were in search of something similar to your next build, then let’s talk about Rixen Pedal Enclosures!

Rixen is based out of New Zealand and are offering an enclosure similar to the Boss style enclosures (spring with hinge foot pedal). They’ve configured the battery compartment to be under the foot switch and operates with a 3PDT or 4PDT foot switch to easily have true bypass handling with your effects.

Check out this video:

Additionally, what I thought was cool, is you can purchase a prototype PCB board that fits perfectly in the enclosure. They even provide PCB outline files on their download page if you wanted to manufacturer your own custom PCBs.

I was also impressed with pricing. A ‘No Frills’ bare enclosure kit is $19.95. They also provide enclosures loaded with footswitches and with some color options.

If you’re looking for an enclosure for your next build project… give Rixen a look!

Thanks for telling us about Rixen, Hank. I’ve usually bought the Hammond 1590 type enclosures from places like a Mouser. It’s good to have choices that someone trusted, like you, has vetted on some level.
