The following is a guest post by EC Custom Shop located in Israel . If you are interested in guest posting, please contact me!

EC Custom Shop - Factory Tour - work bench
One thing we always keep in mind is perfection, when I started building custom pedals few years ago I never dreamed that this will be a business in the end, as a guitar player of the band Feelabout (www.feelabout.com) from Israel I always wanted to keep a unique sound on stage, it’s a lot better building and designing pedals if you are a guitar player.

EC Custom Shop - Factory Tour - Designing the PCB's
From the process of designing the pedal till the end we always keep on high quality materials and even quality tools, all of our product’s parts are mostly from the USA and from Germany.

EC Custom Shop - Factory Tour - PCB's in built
Our PCB’s are well designed with fully grounded surface, I designed the pedals to be in between vintage style built and modern style, we use SMD components resistors which are more durable and accurate than standard cheap resistors and we use thru hole capacitors  which are a lot better than SMD capacitors so we use the best of the two worlds, most of the polarity caps are tantalum polyester caps which are a lot more higher grade caps than most standard electrolytic capacitors, more over the pots are not soldered on the PCB, they are hand mounted on the box and soldered by hand to the PCB just like on those high grade tube amps, the foot switch is from Germany and the jacks are made by Neutrik – all of this makes a pedal which is %100 the highest quality you could get from both vintage and modern aspects, the best sound you could get with minimum background noise.

As we are building and drilling those by hand one by one, we building the pedals in small quantities, all the pedals are covered with high grade shiny colors.

After the pedal is being built by hand we first test it with a probe and spectrum analyzers to see if it meets our standard test results

If everything is ok we move on and test the pedal with 2 different amps to check and see that the pedal sounds like the others

And the final stage is signing the pedal from the inside, each one gets a serial number and personally signed by me, we ship each pedal with an EC pedals guitar pick :
