I recently came across this video series called “This is How I Bliss”. Well, I’m not sure it’s officially a series.. but I hope so. On this particular video, Joel Korte and Scott Hansen of Tycho nerd out on some Chase Bliss pedals. I LOVE watching videos like this. They’re not demos. They’re not reviews or instructional. But observing a musician explore possibilities with their tools and specific style to show potential for other musicians. Chase Bliss is a builder of pedals, that I feel, enjoys the “surprises” and not necessarily following a direct application or intent of the pedal.
But before I show you that, let’s see what Tycho is all about. I wasn’t too familiar with Tycho, so I went down the rabbit hole exploring. I was fascinated. Check out this KEXP vid:
So, you get the ‘vibe’ of Tycho, let’s dip into “This is How I Bliss”…

Watching this, I was immediately drawn to Scott’s style on many levels, and see why he enjoys Chase Bliss and Strymon. I broke down the board you see for his set up here.
