Pedal Line Friday – 9/15 – Dez Bone

Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Dez Bone . If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Pedal Line Friday – 9/15 – Dez Bone

Hello! This is my Pedal Line Friday Submission.

My name is Dez Bone I play guitar (along with all the other instruments) in our band Audiodeluxe: www.audiodeluxe.bandcamp.com

I play a combination of a Gibson SG Special, a Yamaha SG 800 standard and a Fender Highway 1 Telecaster through this board into a Laney VC-15 and a ZT Lunchbox running in stereo.

Artec big dots tuner
Volume pedal
Danelectro cool cat chorus
Boss SD-1
Boss HM-2
Harley Benton EQ-100 7 band eq
Glx FL-100 flanger
Danelectro cool cat tremolo
Boss DD-3
Digitech Supernatural reverb

I use the volume pedal along with a slide to create ambient swells / noise as a back drop to some of our more sparse songs (like ‘Treasure’ from our first EP)

I run my chorus at the start of my chain (which I am constantly being told is not the done thing) as I like the sound of distorted chorus rather than chorused distortion.

Then I have my SD-1 for light Overdrive and to stack into my HM-2 just to give me three dirt sounds rather than two.

Next comes the EQ I use this as a tone shaper to pick out specific frequencies when using the Flanger.

After that comes the trem (I don’t use this very often but like it for the odd accent on long passages)

Then comes the Delay then Reverb that is set to create long ambient washes.

This is quite a modest board compare to some with nothing boutique – but is a highly
usable and has a great tone pallet.

Bio type thing:

Audiodeluxe (Sammy McHugh vocals, Dez Bone all other sounds) have been making and releasing our own music since the late 90s and have been pretty successful at it with radio air play on BBC radio 1 and 6, XFM, and various international stations. We’ve also had our music licenced by the Fox sports channel for use in there shows, all of which have turned a lot of people on to our music… And just this week we won ‘Best electronic band’ in the Radio Wig Wam online music awards.
