Rig Rundown for Warpaint

I love how you start off some basic research from a photo and go down the rabbit hole and discover something you’re really into. I saw a post about a Premier Guitar Rig Rundown for the band Warpaint. I’ve never heard of this band but the board looked cool. The Rig Rundown focused around Emily Kokal (guitar) and Theresa Wayman (guitar/bass). Warpaint is a indie rock band from Los Angeles, CA.

Immediately, the gear grabbed my attention with Emily’s Roland JC amp great selections of ‘verbs and delays to Theresa and her detuned pitchfork and vintage Fender Mustang. After watching the video, I wanted to hear what these guys sounded like, and I was blown away….

I really enjoyed the guitar interplay and the moody soundscapes that they were able to create. There were elements of bands like Be Forest, Fever Ray and Foals that I’m super into. Vocally, it was complex and intriguing. I absolutely dig these guys.
