Moog MF-104M Analog Delay Production Suspended

Moog MF-104M Analog Delay Production SuspendedHere is some interesting news. Moog announced yesterday that they’re suspending production on the Moog MF-104M Analog delays. This is due to the unavailability of the particular BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) chips that the use in these units. The Moog MF-104M is one of the top sounding and highly sought after delay pedals on the market.

This doesn’t mean you can get rich delays from Moog. Their MF-Delay Minifooger and 500 Series Analog Delays are still in production and are available. This only impacts the Moog MF-104M.

If you’ve been wanting one of these, well, you better get one now or miss your chance. I’m sure the value of these pedals will skyrocket after new stock has gone. But, does this mean a complete shortage on BBD chips? I believe the answer is ‘no’. The MF-104M used a particular BBD chip, and in the past the MF-104M has gone in and out of production. It all depends when/if a new batch of BBDs come into the market.

Not sure. I’ve seen a couple of unofficial schematics, so didn’t want to mention exactly, since I was not 100% sure.
