Ibanez TS808DX Tube Screamer

There seems to be some interesting buzz about the Ibanez TS808DX, and I wanted to take a closer look. In a nutshell, it’s a TS808 combined with a independently controlled booster circuit. The boost circuit can provide 20dB of gain. I liked how they thought about the position of the circuit. I’ve had this discussion with multiple guitarists, and depending on the need or application will dictate where a boost is required. Ibanez provides a toggle switch to assign where the position of the boost in relation of the 808 circuit. The boost can be before or after, which is very nice.

Both the switches that handle the boost and the 808 circuit are true bypass. Standard controls of overdrive, tone and level. Additional there is a separate boost level control.
