Electro-Harmonix Hot Tubes Nano Overdrive

I’ve been seeing a few demos of the Electro-Harmonix Hot Tubes Nano Overdrive, and have been interested in this guy as well. The original Electro-Harmonix Hot Tubes was quite large (the bigger classic enclosures from back in the day – see pic), and it’s time to bring it back, but give it a smaller footprint – ala nano! I have to say, the original was pretty damn big!

Original EHX Hot TubesThe Hot Tubes is a CMOS overdrive and is built to the same original specifications as the original (I’m assuming components are generally the same). Hot Tubes has Volume and Overdrive controls as well as a tone circuit control. There is a toggle that will allow you to bypass the tone circuit all together, which is kind of nice dependent on your situation or needs.

Here is a great demo by GAK

If you’re interested in the EHX Hot Tubes Nano Overdrive, it’s currently available for only $58.04 on Amazon.com and is available with free shipping!

The pedal sounds great, but I wonder about the amp it was plugged into. I have a Peavey VIP which sounds really sweet, yet I now wonder if this pedal could make it sound even better?
