Pedal Line Friday – 7/20 – Mikey Vranek

Today’s pedal line is from Mikey Vranek. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Pedal Line Friday - 7/20 - Mike Vranek

My name is Mikey Vranek and I’m the lead guitarist/keys for the band Waking Heroes. We’re an alternative rock band from Hoboken NJ. My board has gone through a ton of variations but at the moment, this is my current tour setup.

First, from my guitar, the line goes from my wireless into the Devi Ever Legend of Fuzz, then into a Crybaby Q35, into a EH micro synth, into a Digitech Whammy, into a Boss tuner, into an EH Small Clone Chorus, into a Boss BF2 Flanger, into a Malekko 616 LoFi Ekko, into a Line 6 DL4 Delay, and then lastly everything runs into a Pigtronix Class A boost. Also on the board in the right corner are two footswitches. An old unknown footswitch I use for channel switching on my amp and another that’s for switching presets on my Digitech rack unit. The pedals are all powered by a Cioks AC10 that’s underneath the second tear. The signal path is wired through a 25′ snake back to my rack. The pedalboard goes into my amps input.

My rack, starts with a JHS pulp n peel compressor, a Digitech IPS33B Harmonizer, and a Korg KP3 going into the effects in/out of my amp. My wireless is a Sennheiser G2 system and under it is a 4 channel DI for keys and tracks that way all extra lines come from one rack on stage to keep the sound guy in a good mood. My amp is a Soldano Hot Rod 100XL and my cab is a Marshall 1960AX. I use a hot rodded Fender Telecaster Deluxe, a Gibson SG Standard, and a Gibson Les Paul Studio.

We are currently getting ready for a short northeastern run with Sponge at the end of June. Come check us out!
