Custom 77 Push Me Pull Me Overdrive Demo

Custom 77 Push Me Pull Me Overdrive DemoCustom 77 is out of France.. and make guitars/basses as well as high quality pedals. I was really curious how this pedal (they actually sent two pedals, but that’s another demo) and I was really quite impressed with the pedal. This demo is for the Push Me Pull Me Overdrive. A great sounding overdrive with nice tonal options. When we think of overdrives it’s hard to stand outside of the pack of the thousand of other overdrives on the market. To me, a good overdrive is an overdrive that can provide different options, while sounding good throughout. The Custom 77 Push Me Pull Me Overdrive does this. The voicing is right on the money.

The controls of the Custom 77 Push Me Pull Me Overdrive include Level, Tone and Gain. There is a also a 3 position toggle switch for some voicing parameters – Vintage, Wild and Modern. Additionally, at the rear of the pedal there is a ground lift and buffer switches. I’m a fan of buffers, so this was cool to have and to me clearly sounded the best with the buffer engaged. Again, nice to have these options in an overdrive.

For this demo I again enlisted the help of my good friend, Jimmy Rolle. He is playing his Gibson Gold Top Les Paul with P90 pickups into a Germino Lead 55 (plexi style amp) through a Marshall 4×12 cabinet. There is nothing between the guitar and amp besides the Custom 77 Push Me Pull Me Overdrive.

You can listen to the high quality MP3 clip via SoundCloud

The Custom 77 Push Me Pull Me Overdrive is available at Custom 77’s website and is listed at 95EUR – which translates roughly to $124 in USD. That is a great pedal for $124! Be sure to also check out Custom 77’s website for their other pedals, as well as they guitars. They’re making some great stuff. You can also learn more about them by liking their Facebook page and following them on Twitter.
