I came across an interesting pedal yesterday. It’s the Jacques Trinity Wah Filter Pedal. Here we have a pedal that can do a few things. It’s called ‘Trinity’ because it has 3 basic modes, which are – envelope filter, auto wah and wah. What initially caught my eye was the foot controller which is in the shape of a dome that plugs into the stompbox. Apparently they’ve come up with an alternative way to control the wah by not using the classic rack/pin system. Interesting. With this foot controller, you can manually manipulate the wah in classic wah mode.
You can also get the ‘stuck wah’ sound which maintains the wah’s current setting throughout your play. And finally we have envelope filter and auto wah modes that will react to your playing.
Love to hear if anyone has any experience with this. I like new ideas.. it refreshing. The Jacques Trinity Wah Filter Pedal is available for $179.95 at Musician’s Friend.

I used to have this thing. It is all right, it’s useful for stock, cliche wah sounds, but it moves through the whole range of motion far too quickly. The envelope is good for filtered bass sounds I guess. But I ended up trading it for a tuner pedal. But I guess I’m not really a wah wah guy to begin with, it was kinda dumb for me to buy it in the first place.
