5 Boutique Overdrive Shoot Out

5 Boutique Overdrive Shoot Out

This morning I found another interesting shoot out video. This time it’s with 5 different boutique overdrives. I really like these short shootouts to get a sense of how these pedals differ or are similar to each other. Great starting point when looking for a new pedal.

This video was be PerFussionist80 and the pedals in the shoot out are:

Paul Cochrane Timmy
NOC3 Pure Drive
CMATmods Signa Drive
Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive (CB Version)
Catalinbread Formula No. 5

He had a Emma ReezaFRATzitz RF-1 in the line up, but did not play that (high gain pedal), love to hear that.

As you said there is overlap with the sounds of the 5 pedals and you need to decide what 1 or 2 you want to keep on you board! Add a good fuzz, keep the pedal that’s easiest to use and that has the best sounds to your ear.

This seemed to be more of an exercise in getting the pedals to sound alike. The first run-through would have been fine, followed by some knob-tweaking to show the differences.
