Pedal Line Friday – 7/27 – Riley Haynie

Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Riley Haynie. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Signal path in order.

Polytune.

ISP decimater – I like to put the noise suppressor before any thing else in my effect chain because i find I can set it more conservitvly and it does the job. If it goes last I find it chokes my signal too much.

Boss CS-2 – This is the my favorite compressor i’ve come across. It’s not really “transparent” sounding like most people like, but I think it adds a musical sustain that I find pleasing. However I only use it on a clean tone which isn’t that often.

Verellen Big Spider – This has to be my favorite fuzz. It almost adds a synth like quality that I haven’t found in any other fuzz and it’s become an integral part of a few Deathwish songs. Ben Verellen has discontinued this fuzz so I need to start hoarding them.

Fuzzrocious Cat Tail – This spot on my board is a bit of a revolving door. I love gnarly filthy distortions and I’m always looking for new things.

JHS Moonshine – My go too overdrive for several years now. Replaced my tube screamer and I haven’t looked back.

Moog MF Chorus – one of the more natural sounding chorus pedals I’ve tried. I had to have a chorus so I can rip off the riff in “Come as you are”

JHS Milkman – this is my ode to country guitar and rockabilly. Super musical slap delay that I add in as a texture here and there.

Empress Tape Delay. – I graduated from the classic MXR carbon copy (which I love). I wanted the extra control of the modulation and the tap tempo feature is nice as well.

Orange FS-1 – Reagular orange foot switch to change the channel on my Thunderverb 200

Hey – I’ve been wanting to put together a compact board w/out the noise, etc. This is the perfect example.
