Celestial Effects Aries Beast Distortion Give Away

Celestial Effects Aries Beast Distortion Give AwayGIVE AWAY IS CLOSED

I’m really excited to announce the Celestial Effects Aries Beast Distortion Give Away here on the site! Celestial Effects has really done it again with the Aries Beast Distortion. There are a lot of distortion / overdrive / boost pedals out there. What those pedals end up being, is a one-trick pony giving you a single sound, that may or may not be perfect for the particular situation. Options are a nice thing at times, and with the Aries Beast Distortion, you get plenty of options.. and I’m talking about the ‘smart options’.

The circuit is designed to include two gain stages (cascade or in series). The first opamp stage, which is the ‘Gain’ control does NOT use any clipping diodes which provides that ‘open’ style dirt. The second opamp  uses asymmetrical MOSFET clipping diodes, which is the ‘Drive’ control. This tightens things up.

Most tone stacks simply include Treble/Bass controls. I’ve said it multiple times, but those Mids are crucial for cutting through the mix. I was pleased to see a full three band EQ to shape the tone. They’re also providing a FET gain stage at the end of the EQ to help correct the volume and to warm things up.

Giving this a test drive, I was VERY impressed with the growl that this pedal can provide, but also with the tone shaping controls. Want a scooped sound.. you can get it. You want heavy mids to rip leads.. done. Want medium grit, not a problem. Want heavy crunch.. done. I really enjoyed the pedal as a lead boost with a dirty amp.

So again, the guys at Celestial Effects, is letting me give the Aries Beast Distortion (retails for $179) away to a lucky EffectsBay reader! So let’s get to the give away details.

I want to thank Celestial Effects this guy up. Definitely, check out Celestial Effects. They have lots going on, and their pedals are top-shelf all the way! Check out their site, Facebook and Twitter!

I’m going to a random entry on June 5th. I will email that random entry asking for the answer to the question listed below. You will have 24 hours to respond with the answer. If the 24 hours passes and I don’t hear from that finalist, I will select a new random entry and repeat the process until I receive confirmation from the winner. This is open to everyone. Yes, that means international! Also, one entry per person. Please read that last sentence again… “one” “entry” “per” “person”.

The submission form will be open until June 5th (Mon) 2PM MST.

Please take a moment to Tweet, Share, Email this give away to your gear friends. We all like free gear right?

And then please answer the question below to complete your primary entry:

So the question is…. “What was your first distortion pedal? And do you still use it?”

Question: Will the Skull Taps work on the Boss ME30?

If it uses the FS-5U (which it looks like according to the manual http://media.rolandus.com/manuals/ME-30_OM.pdf) You can use the Skull Tap. I would be safe and get one with a polarity switch. The FS-5U is a polarity switch momentary switch.. the skull tap with polarity would be the same.
