Pedal Line Friday – 11/10 – Pedro Jimenez

Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Pedro Jimenez. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Hope all is well, I thought I’d share my robot placements and usage with effects bay. My robots are pretty simple and straight forward for what I do. I currently front the 90s alternative with an original twist and Whiskey Tree out of hELl Paso, Texas. For the most part I am vocals and rhythm guitar with some accents here and there… I’m like the salt and pepper with a hint of cayenne thrown in for good measure.

I hate when there are two guitarists in the band and they both play exactly the same thing just no flavor to the mix. So I use my board to get that flavor, I’m running from my guitar a Mexican fender strat straight to a rattlesnake line buffer. From there it is to my 90s original cry baby, to my tuner. From there I go into my MXR dyna comp compressor. Now a lot of people ask why I use a compressor. Multiple reasons it controls my sound live so I’m not too loud and not too soft it is a big learning curve and I think people give up to easily on it. I love it I’m pumping my rig out of a fender hotrod 2×12 deville and it’s LOUD! This helps me control it.

Back to the bots… from my dyna comp to my three overdrives that all play a different part. My main overdrive is my Friedman motor city drive. It has a tune in it to give it that warmth and crunch I love it just punches everyone in the gut and the sustain goes on forever. Next to that is my witch burner by black arts toneworks, this is my dirty overdrive for those had STP and Alice In Chains songs. Next is my standard old school boss super overdrive pedal. This pedals overdrive is set at minimal just enough to give it some sustain and a little crunch for gin blossoms and Tom petty type stuff. From there it’s to my TC electric chorus for flavor to my red witch sister 7 eve tremolo pedal with a built in lithium battery. The tremolo on this adds the hot sauce to the song great little pedal. Finally from there it’s out to my little spark to boost my sound for the couple of solos I’m aloud to play.

All of this is run through of course rattlesnake patch and instrument cables to my fender 2×12 hotrod deville. My bots to yours!
