John Mayer Pedal Case/Collection

So yesterday, the internet was in full on melt down with talk about the new PRS John Mayer Signature “Strat”. It was interesting to see the response on the guitar and how there are some many feelings pro and con on the release. But during this I saw something that was new to me. May not be new to a few of you, but thought I would share.

John Mayer Pedal Case/Collection

It started with a video post from johnmayerclub Instagram account:

What is this madness? What’s the story with the crazy roadcase with multiple drawers full of pedals? So I started digging. So that clip was from way back in 2013 when Mayer was at Electric Lady Studios in New York recording Paradise Valley (which is located in my home state of Montana). I found this full clip with additional extra goodies…

So initially, I thought this might be the studio’s collection of pedals. But I’m starting to think that Mayer shipped 500 pedals to the studio for the project. What do you think? What pedals can you identify? Comment below!

There is a video somewhere from the making of a earlier album where he talks about bringing all of his gear into the studio, and you can see tables full of pedal boxes. He also has an extensive collection of early Way Huge pedals, has shown some off on Instagram before.
