Bob Balch (of Fu Manchu and PlayThisRiff.com) let me know about a video he shot with Ed Mundell from Monster Magnet demo’ing his Memory Man w/Hazarai. I’ve been thinking pretty seriously about getting this pedal myself, so it was cool to see some spacey stuff it’s capable of doing. Ed pretty much stuck with the reverse delay on this quick demo.

A few months ago, I wrote a community question asking what the best delay pedal is out there today. There were tons of responses and great suggestions on what people thought about a great delay pedal. Yesterday, @BooDooPerson let me know (via Twitter) about a great video his friend shot at Taylor Barefoot’s studio. This video is a great little boutique delay shootout of some awesome pedals. Two different riffs, with similar settings. Same guitar (1959 Strat) same amp, same mic so you can really hear the differences.

I’ve been seeing this pedal on a few Pedal Line Friday submissions, and I wanted to talk about this today. Everyone knows that Electro Harmonix Memory Man is a sweet pedal.  But what’s the deal with the Electro-Harmonix XO Stereo Memory Man w/Hazarai? Interesting that “Hazarai” translates to “all the good stuff”. So, it’s packed with some awesome-ness.

Here is the official description of features:

Electro-Harmonix’ Stereo Memory Man Delay pedal is a multi-tap delay, it’s an echo, it’s a reverse echo, it’s a performance looper with tap tempo, and it’s programmable… it’s got all the Hazarai! Designed for the performing musician, the new Stereo Memory Man pedal is destined to be one of the most creative instruments on your pedalboard.

The Hazarai knob is a rotary encoder that allows the user to scroll through the 8 different Hazarai modes. The following is a list of the Hazarai modes that the Hazarai knob scrolls through:

The Hazarai knob is also a push button. Push and release the Hazarai knob to load your preset for the presently selected mode. Push and hold to save your preset into the presently selected Hazarai mode.

Yesterday, I posted info about the EHX Memory Toy analog delay. I thought it was only appropriate to post the new Electro-Harmonix Memory Boy Analog Echo Chorus Vibrato Pedal as well. This pedal was newly introduced to the Electro-Harmonix pedal line to make the features and quality of the legendary Memory Man more affordable allowing it to be more accessible to more musicians.

Here are the features of this pedal:

I’m a fan of the EHX Memory Man, I think they sound absolutely great. I’m really excited about the Electro-Harmonix Memory Toy Analog Echo and Chorus guitar effects pedal. It’s pretty new, and I don’t know anyone that personally owns one.. yet, but this pedal is going to be hard to beat for the price ($79.50 at Musician’s Friend).
