Crowther Audio - Prunes & Custard
Auction: Prunes & Custard Harmonic Generator Effects Pedal! SHOP
Seller: melbournemusiccentre
Crowther Audio is a very interesting pedal guru. I believe he (Paul Crowther) still produces these pedals out of his workshop in New Zealand. Along with the Prunes & Custard he makes the Hot Cake distortion. The Prunes might interest bass owners out there. It's an unusual distortion that fluctuates almost like a phase in a weird way. It reacts well with percussive attack on the signal.
This is a eBay store out of Australia. The price is pretty high, but it's hard to find these pedals in the states. I think you could get a better deal if you found a shop that had this inventory, but again, that is slightly uncommon, and you would most likely need to purchase this from Australia or New Zealand anyway.
I'm not sure what is up with Australia and New Zealand in regards to pedal making.. they have some wizards down there. One thing I do know.. they're making some great stuff.
If you're a guitarist looking for a nice overdrive/distortion pedal, I would keep my eyes open for a Hot Cake. They run cheaper than a Prunes and have a similar tone to a Fat Boost, etc.
