Pedal Line Friday – 7/13 – Dan Haywood

Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Dan Haywood. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

I have dubbed this pedalboard Mission Control. This is my main rig I use with Montana based indie rock outfit The Modern Sons. After years of collecting pedals and tweaking the signal chain I have finally settled on this arrangement. Of course things never stay the same for long. As you can see I leave room for pedals to move around as some come and and some go. Over the years I have learned tons about what it is I look for in my arrangement and signal chain. For example I have my delays and verbs post volume pedal and fuzz needs to be before the wah. I to keep the wires and patch cables visible, I adorn the board with trinkets, LED lights and stickers. I like my pedalboards to look as chaotic as possible so when people look at it they can’t make heads or tails of it.

I am a Montana based musician, sound engineer and lighting designer. Follow my Instagram @animoscillator for projects I embark on and pedalboards of artist I work with such as Victor Wooten and Reggie Watts.

Subscribe to my YouTube channel @Animoscillator for experimental videos, music and sound design I make with my arsenal of synths, guitars and FX pedals!
