Pedal Line Friday – 8/18 – Ethan Taylor Sims

Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Ethan Taylor Sims . If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Pedal Line Friday - 8/18 - Ethan Taylor Sims

Ethan Taylor Sims lead guitarist of Casey Jo & The Friday Night Dads (fb profile is full band name ^^ IG handle @fridaynightdads and multi-instrumentalist here’s is my current board for my electric guitars, steel guitars and other electric instruments (mandolin, cigar box)

Telecaster // Epiphone Dot semi // other electric instruments

EB volume (split- tuner{korg pb})
Boss EQ
Boss super octave
EHX hot tubes
Fulltone ocd
Fulltone octave fuzz -> ’73 super reverb
MXR analog chorus
Boss dd6 (painted)
Akai head rush 2
DOD phasor reissue
EHX holy grail nano -> ’77 bassman

The volume is for well.. Volume. I like having the tuner on at all times so the volume is my mute. Plus the pitch black is getting old and was doing stuff to my tone. Had to get it out of the main line. The EQ is necessary for the barrage of instruments that go thru the line. The octave is for riffy riffs. The hot tubes gives it balls, the ocd is for dirt, the fuzz is for fuzz. The chorus is for 80’s ZZ Top // Eddie Money tones. The dd-6 is used for warp and reverse delays. I use the head rush for analog delays live and looper practice at home. I get basic phase tones from the DOD I’m not to crazy about phase but this pedal gives me exactly what I want (purchased off your recommendation) the reverb is for the bassman that has none. The full signal goes to the bassman the dry signal goes to the super reverb and gets reverb and trem from the amp. Mogami cables, Daddario strings, Levi straps.
