Pedal Line Friday – 5/13 – Olav Christensen

Today’s Pedal Line Friday submission is from Olav Christensen. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Pedal Line Friday - 5/13 - Olav Christensen

Hello guys
I’m at it again! Sorry!
This time, though, I think I will stick with this line for a bit!
I got rid of a bunch of pedals since last I submitted my line. Lunastone Wise Guy, Emma Stinkbug and Xotic SL OD to name a few. I replaced them with pure awesome so this is what my board looks like now and in the order of the signal flow:

EHX Next Step volume pedal (not in the pic!), TC Polytune, TC Ditto, Dr. Scientist The Elements, Keeley 4 knob comp, Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl, Red Panda Particle, Caroline Kilobyte, Strymon Blue Sky and finally TC Flashback. From the Blue Sky, I transition to stereo.
The board is powered by a standard Gator PSU with 8 x 9v and 3 x 18v outputs! The Elements takes 18v and the EHX volume pedal gets power from the Polytune 9v out! (Genious)

The most recent and most exciting additions are the Particle, The Elements and the Warped Vinyl. Especially The Elements and the Warped Vinyl are pretty amazing. I doubt that there are more versatile pedals made! The variety of nutty sounds I can get from this board is staggering.
I use it for recording only and record directly from the board into a digital recorder from which I transfer Wav to my DAW.

I really only use the Ditto to capture certain phrases for when I need to tweak the pedals. I like to have the board at table level so I can be more hands on when I tweak knobs!

My guitars are a Jazz bass, a souped up Squier Strat with a 7 way switch installed and a brand new amber 55 Mod Shop Tele from Michael Kelly which I absolutely love and can’t stop staring at!

I am currently working on my 2nd electronica album which will be a collaboration with the amazing Ancelmo James! Not sure when that will drop but in the meantime, you can listen to the first one “The Day Spa Sessions” here:

I’m on twitter and Instagram and both handles are @olzios

See you on the interwebs!
Peace
Olav Christensen

Olav — A couple of things — Nice board — Again! — How long until #3 ? Guessing next month — I have been wondering about the Michael Kelly guitars — They are really good looking guitars –esp. the new line & the Floyd Silver Patriot for $299 is hard to pass up.
