I was excited to see a @Knobs tweet go through my feed. He mentioned that they have a brand new demo video of the Dr. Scientist BitQuest up on the YouTubes. He simply tweeted – “The sound of your grandpa eating lemons.”. Ok, you have my attention (as usual)!
For those of you that aren’t familiar with Knobs videos, they’re pretty great. Unusual. Entertaining. Visually appealing, and most importantly thorough on what the pedal is capable of. Check out some of these other posts about Knobs as well – “Knobs – On YouTube” which he’s demonstrating the Montreal Assembly Count to Five and “Knobs Demo – Dwarfcraft – Pitch Grinder”
Dr. Scientist is a company out of Summerland, British Columbia, Canada, and just like Knobs, a little different than the normal. Just check out their website (get ready for a ride). They make some insane pedals – the BitQuest is just one of many.
The Dr. Scientist BitQuest is what they call a “digital multi-tool”. What we have here is a compact multi-effects unit in a single stomp enclosure. You have the following effects in this pedal:
Flanger
HP/LP filter
Bit Crusher
Infinite Reverb
Notch Filter
Ring Modulator
Pitch Shift
Glitch Delay
Each effect also has the ability to include digital ‘fuzz’ as well. It’s amazing that they can get this much circuitry in a single sized enclosure. Check out the guts! Tight!
Okay.. let’s get to the Knobs video:
Pretty crazy right? If you’re looking to pick up the Dr. Scientist BitQuest, it’s available for $265 at Amazon.com.
