Pedal Line Friday – 1/24 – Sarah Cuthbert-Kerr

Today’s pedal line is from Sarah Cuthbert-Kerr. If you have a pedal line (doesn’t have to be in a board) for your rig, please email me a photo, bio, description of pedals and routing to pedalline@nulleffectsbay.com. Every Friday I’ll showcase a pedal line submission. Make sure you include any links to your band or music page.

Pedal Line Friday - 1/24 - Sarah Cuthbert-KerrSarah Cuthbert-Kerr – rhythm guitar in Wozniak

Being heavily influenced by post-rock and shoegaze, we’re fond of an effect or two in Wozniak. When we first started I only used the G7.1ut Zoom unit, but as the band has progressed I’ve steadily added individual pedals to the set up. I like being able to play with the sounds and find it easier to control things.

EHX Little Big Muff – nothing better than the BM for downright scuzziness and face-melting. This one comes in convenient handbag size! (I obviously don’t carry distortion pedals in my handbag, but I could if I wanted).

smallsound/bigsound Team Awesome Fuzz Machine  – a recent acquisition which I’m using to create waves of sound. It’s set up for quite a soft fuzz at the moment, but it can become ferocious.

Mooer Ninety Orange – so much phase in such a tiny box. I kind of wish I only had Mooer pedals so that I could just have a dinky wee pedal case, instead of a really heavy one that has to be carried up a lot of stairs.

Way Huge Aqua Puss -  truly dreamy. I don’t use the delay itself that much, but I like to roll the feedback knob up a little and whack the blend round to 3 o’clock and bask in the sparkle it adds to the sound.

Behringer RV600 (x 2) – without these guys, Wozniak would not sound like Wozniak! They’re inexpensive and packed with a brilliant range of sounds. I have one on constant cave reverb, with everything turned all the way up and another on the space setting – shimmertastic!

Mr Black Supermoon Chrome – this was a birthday gift and it is epic. An unbelievably deep and dreamy reverb that lasts forever, plus there is a modulation control that just takes you off into space.

It’s all  powered with a One Spot. Easy!

You can hear some of these pedals at work on Wozniak’s first single ‘MFMB’/’New Hampshire’  – available to download now at www.wozniak.bandcamp.com. Watch our video for ‘MFMB’ on You Tube – http://youtu.be/SvSHYQasO_Y.  Follow us at www.facebook.com/wozniakofficial / @band_wozniak on Twitter.
