U2 Edge Technique – Voodoo Lab Giggity and Strymon Pedals
Voodoo Labs just uploaded an interesting video showing how to achieve an Edge-like tone with a Voodoo Lab Giggity, Strymon Brigadier Delay and Strymon Blue Sky Reverberator. Also, he goes into a very cool pick technique that I’ve never seen before – using the grip side of a Dunlop nylon pick for the scratchy break up. Curious if this is what the Edge really uses or not. I doubt it, but if anyone has some insight, please let me know.
The Voodoo Lab Giggity is definitely a new pedal for me. For those of you like me, that weren’t familiar with this.. here is the description:

Regarding using the side of the pick for different texture, I am pretty sure Premier Guitar interviewed Keith Urban’s guitar tech a while back and he also mentioned that Keith uses the edge of his Dunlop pick like that one for a unique texture to his attack.
